Work In Progress Character Card

Here is the character card for Centurio it is a work in progress, with the size of the text being changed shortly as its to small in places.


I am trying to keep the amount of in game text to a minimum.

Each symbol on the card relates to a side of the dice that I used in the game with the exception of the black heart, this refers to Wounds.

The Red fist is Meele.

The Blue symbol is Energy.

The Yellow and Black Shield is defense.

While Psyborg usually fights on the side of good and has teamed up with the Legion of Primus, he has a personal vendetta to fulfill.

Legion of Primus: Gravitas

Gravitas.

Enemy of the Legion of Primus



Where did Gravitas get hold of Cubitos energy?

Why is he trying to defeat the Legion of Primus?

Gravitas manipulates Gravity using Cubitos energy.
He can perfom a Gravity Push, sending air molcules surging forward to batter an opponent pushing them backwards.

Gravity Slam sees Gravitas launching an opponent into the air before slamming them into the ground, and any obstacles.

He can use gravity to launch debris around the battelfield into opponents.

Using changes in gravity, Gravitas can form a protective shell around himself.

Legion Of Primus: Roll Into Action

Legion of Primus: Roll into Action

A game of battling Super Heroes and Super Villians using dice to activate your Super Powers.

The first peice of artwork I am able to reveal is for Centurio the leader of Legion of Primus, a group of heroes protecting the Island of Asilo, its inhabitants and the Cubitos energy cubes.



Background to the game and Centurio
The Island of Asilo, where contrary to the musings of modern day scholars is where the first humanoid inhabitants of planet Earth dwelled, they were known as the Armonia. The Armonia had fled to Earth and been guided to the Island of Asilo by the Great Wise One, the Armonia were a peaceful race and their small home planet was rich in energy cubes called Cubitos, the other races of the outer galaxies had sought to control the planet to gain the Cubitos, battling each other with the poor Armonia caught in between. The Armonia fled their planet with as many Cubitos cubes as they could, they journeyed far until they found Earth and finally the Island of Asilo, there they lived peaceful lives for centuries, until the Great Wise One foretold of an impending disaster that would change their lives, the Earth was about to undergo a Seismic event that would change the shape of the planet, their island would be crushed in-between two great continents as they merged together. The great thinkers of Armonia decided the only course of action would be to sink the island under the seas, so deep the land masses above would not crush the island; they toiled hard to build a protective cocoon around the island with powerful Cubitos engines to power the islands atmosphere and to sink the island itself. Thus Asilo was lost in history until…

When the continents parted again millions of years later, there were great discussions in Asilo on whether to return to the surface or not, they decided that they would gain nothing by returning and stayed under the waves, until centuries later one of the powerful engines which kept the island below the seas malfunctioned, thus the decision was made to return to the surface, the engineers worked on new technology to protect the Island from any prying eyes, the island rose to the surface and the dome retracted. The island lay a great distance from any known land mass and they thought that they would be safe and could remain hidden, but they had not realised that the Earth itself had new inhabitants; the Human race.  Scouts were sent out to monitor the inhabitants of the planet, some returned others didnt.
Soon sea going vessels were spotted by the lookouts on several occasions so the Islands defences were put into action. The Island had two mist banks that surrounded it, the outer mist bank and the inner mist bank, both moving in opposite directions, those trying to navigate would get confused and sail straight past the island, the sea also moved quicker in-between the mist banks and could push ships back into the outer mist bank.

But eventually the ships became more powerful and one day a ship broke through the two mist banks and ran aground on the Island, the Armonia approached with caution as three figures fell from the ship’s deck onto the sand.
The Armonia learnt as much as they could from the Humans and in return gave the humans a place to live and food, but they were not allowed to leave the island.

The thinkers of Armonia decided that they would need a new way to protect themselves if needed, they could no longer rely on the sea defences, so using an ancient knowledge that had been sealed many aeons before, they did the almost unthinkable and started to train some of the younger members of Armonia society in combat and defence techniques, using the power of the Cubitos to boost the strength and power of their newly found abilities. Those that were trained were given new identities so their family name would not be dishonoured by their actions.

Over the years more ships become stranded on their shores and soon it was flying ships that crashed onto the island, some survivors of the various wrecks would mutter about the Devils Triangle and look in fear at the Armonia when they arrived. When they calmed down they would tell the thinkers that Asilo lay in the middle of Triangle of sea with modern day Puerto Rico to the South East, America to the West and Bermuda to the North East. It was known to many as the Bermuda Triangle or the Devils Triangle where many ships and aircraft vanished without trace, those that were stranded told of other people scouring the seas to try and find the cause of these disappearances and with each new technology that the Human Race would develop the Armonia realised that one day there secret would be uncovered.
A plan was decided upon and the Armonia chose to reveal the island to the human race and ask for a peaceful existence, in return they would return any of the humans that had found themselves stranded on the Island.

Thus the Armonia became a part of the history books once more.
But what the Armonia didnt realise was the secret of the Cubitos had also been uncovered by some of the surviors that had been returned home. Soon the Island was under attack by people wanting to try and harness this new power source.
The Armonia unveiled the Legion of Primus, using their trained citizens to protect the island and the Cubitos, the legion was led by the fittest and brightest, the one they call Centurio.

The perils of the trademark

What an intriguing title.

Well I had an inkling that the title of my Super Hero game was not going to be possible and it turns out that may be the case.

SuperHero Dice:Roll into Action a great title for a game, BUT Marvel and DC have trademarked a couple of different words, mainly Super Hero and SuperHeroes and this means that any variation on these might fall foul of them, even more so if the product is Super Hero related.

So a change of name is called for, but what to go for:

The Legion of Primus are a group of good super heroes in the game.

Of course for some of the heroes they had working names and now checking a cool site that contains just about any super hero created, of course several of my ones are already taken, so back to the thinking corner for me.

I have seen the first colour images of the first wave of heroes and one villian, more shading and effects are being added and I hope to see them again on Sunday.

The other big news is the game is evolving due to playtesting and the creation of the 2nd wave powers.

So a board is going to be added to the game, it will be a hex board and simulate a battle arena.

It just made so much more sense with powers that can push back, block routes etc otherwise some of the heroes powers would have been to samey.

My graphic designer is unaware of the new board at the moment but I'm sure he will love the idea.

Gravitas & Gaming

So after a Christmas break and playing a few games, as well as getting some new ones for Christmas, its back to the blog.

Thanks to my wife a copy of X Wing Minis game was waiting for me in my stocking, along with Conquest of planet earth.
I also got Level 7 escape, Star Wars card game and Flash Point.

X wing is a cool game which comes with X wing and a couple of tie fighters all pre painted minis  (and yes I have already bought the expansions and cant wait for the new ones this year), for some space duelling in the star wars universe, quick to learn and fun to play.

Conquest of Planet Earth has the players as different Alein races trying to conquer the Earth, fun game that can also play solo.

As can Level 7 escape as you awake in a test Lab, you are a test subject andyou must escape, but watch out for the Alien clones and the guards out to get you. It uses Fear and Threat to determine which player the bad guys will attempt to get.

Flash Point is a fun family game of firefighting, can you put out the fire, save the residents before the building collapses or too many residnets die. Easy to learn and fun to play.

Star Wars card game has yet to hit the table.

Last week I got along to Ninth Legion games club in Newton Abbot and played Zombicide, wow what a cool game, lots of Zombies, I mean lots of Zombies out to get you, its a fun Co-op game that really plays well. Pricey but you get some great components.

So curently the artist working on SuperHero Dice: Roll Into Action is colouring the artwork for the first batch of heroes and villian, the artwork is looking nice and will soon be revealed.

I am working on backstory for the characters and am writing the story for the first villian Gravitas.
It is turning into a longer piece then expected and would make a full issue of a comic book.
Hmmm theres an idea.

Yes we have talked about a comic book and maybe a graphic novel of the origins of the World and the characters themselves, watch this space.

Next week I will reveal Gravitas and his backstory.

My dice game which I have designed, for which I am currently working with a talented artist and creating new SuperHero's and Villians.

Background

The Island of Asilo, where contrary to the musings of modern day scholars was where the first humanoid inhabitants of planet Earth dwelled, they were known as the Armonia. The Armonia had fled to Earth and been guided to the Island of Asilo by the great wise one Mentem, the Armonia were a peaceful race and their small home planet was rich in energy crystals called Cubitos, the other races of the outer galaxies had sought to control their planet to gain the crystals, battling each other with the poor Armonia caught in between. The Armonia fled their planet with as many Cubitos crystals as they could, they journeyed far until they found Earth and the Island of Asilo there they lived peaceful lives for centuries, until Mentem the Sixteenth foretold of an impending disaster that would change their lives, the Earth was about to undergo a Seismic event that would change the shape of the planet, their island would be crushed in-between two great continents as they merged together.
